Jonathan T. Parker

Born in Jacksonville, North Carolina, Jonathan T. Parker attended Southwest Onslow High School and, shortly after, joined the 113th United States Army Band as a saxophonist, graduating from the United States Armed Forces School of Music. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from North Carolina A&T State University studying under Dr. William C. Smiley and earned a Master’s Degree in Music Education from The Ohio State University. Additionally, he has also studied with Dr. Quincy C. Hilliard and Mr. William Owens — both highly regarded composers and educators.
Since 1996, Johnathan has taught various K-12 orchestras, concert bands, jazz bands, and marching bands and his arrangements and compositions have been performed in the United States, Japan, Okinawa, and the Republic of South Korea. He is also a member of the Phi Mu Alpha and Alpha Phi Alpha fraternities. Outside of his teaching and musical endeavors, Johnathan enjoys family, friends, and travel.
