While Karl King is best known for his marches, he also composed over 100 works in other styles – including many beautiful lyrical works. His “Evening Shadows” Serenade features flowing melodies that serve not only as excellent teaching material, but also a pleasing “change of pace” selection for any concert performance. Melodies are carried throughout the ensemble, and careful scoring at the Rising Band level makes this a superb choice for young bands. You won’t want to leave this tune hiding in the shadows!
