By The Light Of The Moon

Developing lyrical style with beginning musicians is tremendously important, and Valerie Shanley’s “By The Light Of The Moon” is an excellent melodic work for first-semester musicians. This contemporary arrangement of the 18th-century French folk song “Au Claire de la Lune” uses only the first six notes of the concert Bb scale, and combines interesting harmonies and unique percussion parts to create an entertaining and effective modern take on this simple but beautiful melody! Our highest recommendation!
