Here is an opportunity for students to experience some early Americana in the form of an old hymn tune dating back to the early 1800’s, known today as “How Firm A Foundation” (“Ye Saints of the Lord”). The theme is first played by the brass in a simple presentation of the tune followed by various “reflections” both lyrical and capricious. It is one of the most popular hymns still sung today!
This title is not yet in print. Please check back later this summer to purchase sets and scores.
Until then, please enjoy this recording by The Washington Winds, conducted by Edward S. Petersen.
