Composed for the Capital University Conservatory of Music Winds and Percussion Camp, “Of Blessings So Near” is a stunning lyrical work by James Swearingen that is ideal for bands wishing to explore lyrical playing, blend, balance, and musicianship. The score inscription reads, “In time of need, look around and seek out the people and activities that promote the most positive feelings. Do so because of the many blessings that are near and dear to your heart.” Very expressive!
