Steve Briody, a recognized NY-area guitarist/college professor for several years, now resides in Columbia, SC. He is the author of the Jamey Aebersold book “Jazz Guitar Lines of the Greats”, and has worked with artists such as Jeff Lorber, Eric Marienthal, Charlie Daniels, Bucky Pizzarelli, Jimmy Webb, Run DMC, Carl Fischer, Mario Cruz, Steve Vai, and many others. His song “Footsteps” appeared on a #1 album by sax great, Eric Alexander. Steve studied at SUNY Fredonia, the Manhattan School of Music, and earned his DMA at Five Towns College in NY.

Steve was a professor, then music department chair at Five Towns College in Long Island, NY. He taught graduate and undergraduate courses in Jazz and Pop Arranging, Composition, Theory, Guitar Instruction, Dissertation Advising, Jazz Pedagogy, and was the director of their Jazz Orchestra and Guitar Ensemble (which twice was invited to perform at the JEN Conference). He continues to teach courses there remotely, while being quite active as a guitarist.
