Pierre La Plante’s wonderful “Foundation” presents an opportunity for performers and audiences to explore a beloved hymn tune dating back to the early 1800’s. Known as “How Firm A Foundation” or “Ye Saints of the Lord,” this outstanding concert band setting is everything you would expect from this master composer. The theme is introduced by the brass in a simple presentation of the tune, followed by various musical reflections both lyrical and capricious, and featuring a grand conclusion. An excellent choice for any performance! Not to be missed!
